Educate Orange - This coming year we want to expand
our IOC outreach and visibility in the communities we serve, especially those
new to us. This last year a donor gave to us a gorgeous old field truck
and tower sprayer. We think it would be fun to restore these and use them
to represent IOC in community parades. We're looking for donations of
resource and talent to be able to do this, this coming year.
Feed the Hungry - In the last year
the IOC has proven itself as an incredibly efficient means of getting fresh,
healthy food to the needy, INEXPENSIVELY! Oranges that you can pay up to
$1.99/lb for at the supermarket, we can get picked and delivered to the needy
for a nickel! This coming year will be another one of hardship - Your
donations to our Feed the Hungry program will have huge bang-for-the-buck!
Save Grove - The more oranges we eat, the more
groves we save. In 2009 we want to grow the IOC eatership to include Palm
Springs, Hemet, and Big Bear. Acquiring a delivery truck would give us the
range to pull in lots of new eaters. We started an "IOC truck fund" in 07
but with two year of effort we're still short of half-way to our goal of
$25,000. In the meantime, we're sharing a truck with Old Grove Orange.
We think we've proven that we can get the things done that you
care about: Saving grove, helping people, preserving memories... As
you do your year-end giving please consider us. The IOC is a non-profit
project to which donations are deductible to the degree allowed by law (Redlands
Conservancy non-profit tax ID #330600577).
Thank you for your support (and appetite)!
