Thanks a Ton Gleaning Program off to a great start!

We're nearing the end of the 2006 Navel Orange season, and our Thanks a Ton Gleaning Program is in full swing. We started this program last year to deliver oranges -- oranges which would have been left unpicked -- to the needy.

Everyone wins in this scenario: Growers see their fruit, which would have otherwise gone to waste, going to a good cause. Low-income families and homeless people get fresh, delicious citrus fruit delivered to them. And IOC Citrus Supporters are the ones who make it happen -- by donating their time and money.

A donation of $100 covers the cost of picking, packing, and delivering half a ton of oranges to the needy. You can print out our Supporter Form, fill it out, and mail it to us with your check. If you'd like to volunteer to pick, pack, or deliver, please call us at 909-794-4484 or email inlandorange@hotmail.com. We truly appreciate your help!

Last year we delivered a staggering 22 tons of fresh fruit to area food banks and homeless shelters, and in one season we became the single largest donor to local nonprofit group Inland Harvest. Let's keep the momentum going and help local families taste the bounty of the Inland Empire!
